Happy Friday #9

Hello!

My week started with my return to the ISLE OF MAN! I was so excited to go home for a few days, the Isle of Man is one of favourite places and it is also home to my parents, brother, dog and some of my friends so it was fantastic to be there for a while.

Being at home gave me the opportunity to go on walks in the countryside with my dog Harry and my Mum. This is a picture of my Mum with Harry and his stick choice of the walk, he doesn't have many teeth left now but he used carry round massive logs!

Look at this view!! My Island is soooo pretty!

I thought I would share some of the pictures I took during my visit to a lovely little cafe.

I went there with my Mum and it gave us a chance to have a really good catch up. I consider my Mum as one of my best friends (is that strange?) so we spent pretty much the whole time I was there chatting and it was delightful!

This is an example of a traditional Manx cottage that was near the cafe, I think they are really pretty!

Sadly my trip home came to an end on Wednesday, this is the view from the boat. I would gush more about how much I love this place but I have a feeling I have done that enough!

Even though my trip back to Uni took be a grand total of 13 hours door to door, with this view from the train it's difficult not to smile.

Happy Friday #8

Hello!

A week that started off with Valentines day is normally a bad one for a singleton like me but this week started off very well indeed, NANDOS!!! There is something about chicken, pri pri and bottomless coke with friends that makes for a very good time indeed :D

The day got even better with an afternoon watching the film About Time whilst doing some crocheting. It was lovely to have some time to just relax, I spend so much time staring at a laptop it is nice to get away from it every once in a while.

The celebrations didn't end there, the day concluded with the cinema to watch Endless Love. Yes it was a day for chick flicks! This one however, had me gasping extremely loudly at one point leading my friend to wet herself laughing! Thanks a lot Friend!

Chocolate and a book, is there a better way to spend an evening! I finished reading My Sisters Keeper and as someone who hasn't seen the film, it left me rather upset. If you haven't read it I defiantly recommend it.

Finally, after the weather we have been having recently this sky was a very pleasant view!

Happy Friday #7

A meeting with one of my lecturers this week really showed me the effect this blog writing and new found happiness is having on me. He remarked on how much more positive, smiley and calm I seemed since Christmas. I hate to think what he thought of me before, but if someone who has no idea about my 2014 plans has noticed it in me, it really must be working.

I was stupid enough to accidentally switch the router off, which is locked in my room, before leaving the house for 4 days at the weekend. Although it all got sorted in a matter of hours, I felt so guilty I promised everyone cake, so I made them these little butterfly cakes.

Over the weekend I also got to spend time with my Gran's beautiful dogs. I love animals so I miss them a lot at uni, but spending time with my Gran has the added bonus of going of long walks with her 3 canines!

I had some really positive progress in terms of work this week too.

This graph my not mean a lot to you but the fact the two lines are so close and follow the same trend shows that my sheets and sheets of calculations have paid off. It shows that my calculated values match the measured ones. Sorry, I am probably boring you to tears but this is a graph that makes me very happy indeed!

Did you make some progress with a tricky problem this week? Or did a pet give you a nice cuddle to put a smile on your face?

p.s. Happy Valentines Day!

Happy Friday #6

Another week goes by, another seven days of happy moments to remember.

Yes, that is a picture of some pigeons. I took this photo whilst I was taking a wander round town one day and it may just like a few pigeons to you but they were HILARIOUS! I just sat watching them walking round and..... ok I am not sure it is quite as funny in the retelling! :P

Sunday was National Yorkshire Pudding Day. As one of my favorite foods I couldn't not have some.

It may not look very attractive but it sure was tasty! It is my variation on toad in the hole, several small Yorkshire puddings with sausages in gravy with leeks, cabbage and onions! I miss roasts so this kind of meal is a real treat!

Yesterday I came to visit my Gran for the weekend, the same one who's birthday present I got through the post last week and today I finally get to give it to her.

To say my Gran has a few pets would be an understatement, from dogs to chinchillas there are loads of them! I suppose that explains my love for animals really.

This lovely lady is a Bearded Dragon. We had a lovely half an hour of her holding on to my shoulder as I had a catch up chat with my Gran. The fact she isn't fluffy doesn't bother me, she is still adorable in my mind. I also really like the fake grass in the bottom of her cage!

Now to look forward to the coming week, trying to focus on the happy bits!
